	Malcolm Morse Foundation The work of Rehabilitation Engineering Center and the Department of Biomedical Engineering is generously supported by a gift from the Malcolm Morse Foundation. Mr. Morse was an alumnus of NJIT who greatly valued creativity in engineering as well as service to humankind. To honor the memory of her husband, his wife, Trudy, has established a permanent fund that provides support for Ph.D. students in biomedical engineering who have are committed to research that benefits children with disabilities. 	State of the Science Workshop in Pediatric Rehabilitation Engineering Science Workshop in Pediatric Rehabilitation Engineering The RERC on Technology for Children with Orthopedic Disabilities held the State of the Science in Pediatric Rehabilitation Engineering on October 16 and 17, 2008. 	Virtual Reality and Recreation - Feasibility, usability, and kinematic trials are being conducted with ten children through a collaboration with the Passaic County Elks Cerebral Palsy Center and the JFK Medical Center.
	Neurorehabilitation and Robotics - System feasibility trial is finished with two control twins ( 5 years old). December 2007 - System feasibility trial is finished with two hemiplegic children (9 years old and 16 years old). January 2008 - Three weeks of pilot study with subjects at Children Specialized Hospital. June 2008 - Two sets of three weeks study at Camp Open Arms have been completed, summer of 2008
	Control of Osteoporosis - Trial with two healthy subjects complete. Verified mechanical design. August 2007 and December 2007 - Thirteen week pilot study with two subjects at CSH in Mountainside, NJ is finished. - Twelve month study with subjects at Fanwood Preschool in Fanwood, NJ set to begin November 2008
